Maths and English are essential for everyone in work and life and play a major part in our vocational programmes. At Project Challenge Maths and English are mandatory subjects. We offer support from entry level 1 to level 2.

We prefer BTEC to GCSE’s as they are more suited to our roll-on/roll-off programmes. Functional skills can be assessed at any time of the year.

On induction learners are assessed as to their appropriate level. A personalised programme is  produced enabling learners to achieve their full potential.

Support, if required, is available in small groups or 1:1 sessions.

Our specialised staff help learners find their hidden skills in order to achieve. Formal assessment does take place but this is done using a variety of methods and technology, such as iPads, laptops and the computers in our exams office.

Functional Skills Mathematics and English are embedded in the vocational qualifications, which helps learners with the context of the subjects.
