What do we do at N'Gage - Hospitality?

N’Gage learners work in a real life café at the Orange Box for their accredited learning. Theoretical and practical BTEC Level 1 Basic Cooking and Hospitality qualifications are studied between 9 – 34 weeks.

 

The courses are delivered on Tuesday, Thursday and Friday.

 

Menus are often themed to British Values or historical events, learners decorate the café accordingly and also add relevant music!  Themes have included national curry week, rationing, Halloween, Black History month, Valentines Day.

 

Cooking has a proven track record of increasing emotional wellbeing including; reducing anxiety, boosting creativity and happiness and increasing capability and a wellbeing feeling, also trying new foods.

 

Embedded or accredited functional skills maths and English are also a part of the full time programme.
